Entropia Universe is a Science Fiction based MMORPG. The game has many features which bring out the role-play of the Entropia Universe; including the combat system, the economy, societies and most importantly, the freedom of the player to do practically whatever he or she wishes.
One of the features which separates Entropia Universe from other multiplayer online games is its combat system. The combat system allows you to easily zoom in and out of the first and third person modes. This is substantial, as it allows the player to really connect with the game and it offers the best of both worlds, allowing the player to match to his or her playing style. Entropia Universe is based around a profession system, and when integrating this into the combat system, it allows the player to define a precise route in which he or she will take through the game (However, you can train many professions). Each profession shares skills with similar professions like it, for example all the rifle professions in the combat section will share anatomy and rifle inflicted. These different professions bring a strong sense of teamwork and role-play into the game when hunting as a team or especially when in PvP.
The economy is integrated into every part of the game, and is probably the biggest separation of Entropia Universe to its competitors, as the game has a real money based economy. The economy of Entropia comes into play in pretty much all you endeavour to do. As the game is based on a real economy it behaves and reacts like one, and so it allows the player to also put their own economical knowledge into practise when running shops, taxing owned land and many others.
Societies are an extremely important aspect of the game and they in themselves allow a lot of freedom, as the society can mould into what they wish to be like. Also it is possible for whole societies to achieve great things whilst working together, like in a land grab event where they battle other player societies for important and powerful areas of land. Especially if new to the game, societies make your time in the game much more enjoyable, as not only are you introduced to a community but the burden of starting the game from scratch is shared into the society.
The main feature of Entropia Universe is its general freedom. The player can become whoever they wish to become and play however they wish to play. The player can buy areas of land and become a land lord or just create themselves a home. They can become pilots, soldiers, merchants and even hair dressers!
Entropia Universe is an outstanding MMORPG, its ability to connect with the player; its economy and general freedom create an excellent role-play feel to the game and allow it to surpass many of its competitors.
