Fix Nes 3
When I play old NES games on my PC, they get slow if I go "full-screen". Would a new graphics card fix that?

Is that all it takes?

Probably not. Your PC, no matter how old, is orders of magnitude more powerful than the NES was. You should have plenty of power to run your emulator. Anyway, NES games are 2D and graphics cards are for 3D calculations.

Try using Task Manager to increase the priority of your NES emulator to 'Above Normal' - this fixed the slowness I was experiencing.

Right-click your Task Bar, and select Task Manager. Click the 'Processes' tab. Sort the list by name and find your emulator - it will be NESticle.exe or something similar that reflects the name of whichever emulator you're using. Right-click it's name, and select 'Set Priority'. Set it to Above Normal.

This should clear things up. You will need to do this every time you start your emulator. To have this get set every time you start your emulator, look here:

but replace 'belownormal' with 'abovenormal'
