how can you repair a scratched wii game?
the game store says it is beyond repair but I have a hard time thinking that it is not that bad but any home remedies? I do not want to pay anything to fix it if I wanted to pay I could buy a new one. but back to the subject... I want to play my wii sports so bad!! please help!!! I need home remedies!! please thank you
Self repair (like with toothpaste) is very delicate. You need to rub in a circular motion and dry by wiping from the center out.
The shiny side of a CD/DVD is just a piece of plastic. To remove the scratch from the surface of this plastic, you buff down ALL the other plastic until you're at the bottom of your scratch. This makes the CD/DVD thinner, but the scratch is gone, so light passes through without scattering and your disc is readable again.
The buffing process leaves more scratches. There's no way around this. But if the buffing is done right, those scratches are in directions that won't interfere and aren't deep enough to cause the laser problems. You can try toothpaste, but you need to know the proper way to do it. Do it wrong and you'll just make it worse.
tl;dr - Either buy a Disc Dr or other high-quality scratch repair device or take the disc to Game Stop or a Video Rental store (such as Blockbuster) and ask them to remove the scratches. As the other user said, it costs about $5.
