hyundai genesis coupe vibrating shifter?
i test drove a genesis coupe manual the other day and the shifter constantly vibrated. When i came to a stop at a light it you could see it vibrating and moving back and forth which was very annoying. I am wondering if this is common or perhaps that was just something wrong with the car i test drove.
i have driven a rear wheel drive car before and the shifter didnt vibrate like this. this vibration moved rapidly where you could actually see it moving back and forth almost like it was going to vibrate enough to slip out of gear.
this is normal operation for this car for a few reasons. first it is a sports car not a luxury sedan. it is made to have a sporty feel. one of which is being able to feel the vibrations of the drive train. second is this is a rear wheel drive car. unlike a front wheel drive manual transmission where the shifter is independent from the transmission and only connected with two cables, the coupe is connected directly to the transmission via hard components such as a shift shaft. this allows the vibrations to transfer to the shifter.
