The American teams all have a city and a state...is it only players from that city? Or is it players on a team who play in a league in that city? Or all over the state?
I'm just curious how they pick them.
If it's just the actual everyday little league teams, it's pretty impressive that the US can compete internationally...it would mean they're not even close to having the best of the nation on one team.
It all starts off from individual little leagues (There are over 7500 to begin with). Each little league picks the best 9-12 players in the entire league and put them on an all-star team where they try to advance through districts, sections, states, regionals, and finally the little league world series. So what you were seeing on TV is the best 16 teams in the world out of about 7500 teams to begin with. So its almost impossible to reach that level.
