does the old white mac book allow you to boot a operating system off a usb drive?
we are getting mac books from school next year, the old white kinds. we do not have admin privileges or boot camp on the macs. so i am wondering if you can boot xp on the mac off a usb drive. if not please tell me that you cant so i can stop wasting my time trying to find out.
Why do you want to boot XP off a USB drive. As long as the MacBooks are Intel ones you should be able to set up Bootcamp if you are desperate to run XP ( can't think why that would be???)
Yes you can boot off an external USB drive it will just take a bit longer.
