Well if you're new to Farmville like I am then you already know that it can be a little overwhelming to understand all the nifty little seeds, trees, animals and such that you can buy for your farm.
One thing I learned right away is that Farmville Cash (FV) is King! So far, for me, the Farmville cash is not easy to come by and so it is critical that you spend it wisely. Of course you can simply whip out your credit card and buy more with real money if you want. But that's not for me. I prefer to play the game without 'external' help:)
So what are the Mystery Boxes?
Basically you spend some of that hard earned Farmville cash on one and place it on your farm...then wait and see what pops out. You get one random item which gives you experience (XP) right away. You can also sell the item for coins, not Farmville cash.
You can get some cool items and it seems that the makers of the game are adding new items all the time.
Here is a short list of just some of the things that might pop out of the mystery box:
· Lounge Chair - Gives 50 XP and Sells for 250 Coins.
· Gold Gnome - Gives 200 XP and Sells for 1000 Coins.
· Red Bike - Gives 30 XP and sells for 150 Coins.
· Hot Tub - Gives 200 XP and sells for 1000 Coins.
The list goes on but this is just to give you an idea of what you may find if you decide to purchase a mystery box.
So, the question is - Is it worth it?
A lot of people I've talked to do not feel that it is worth it since you have to spend that precious Farmville cash to get the box in the first place. I guess they feel there are better ways to get experience and coins.
As for me, I like the 'mystery' element of it all. Some of the items certainly are worth the price of the box and more. So I guess that's why they call it the Mystery Box in the first place.

Now I know what I'm supposed to be doing in this game and have a strategy to Dominate Farmville...lol
