I have been looking for a game called pokemon stadium on Nintendo 64 and i finally found a cheap price but it was in USA. I live in Australia and we bought our Nintendo 64 here and i was wondering if i buy it and use it. Will it work or do they use different systems?
I regret to inform you that US N64 games will not work in your Australian system, mostly because of the analog TV formats aren't the same.
Australia runs on the PAL standard (used in England & other parts of Western Europe) while the US runs on the NTSC standard (using in Japan & Canada). Any attempt to play an NTSC game on a PAL system will either fail totally OR yield extremely undesirable results (making the game unplayable) unless you have some type of moderation to fix this.
It's not the answer you want to hear, but it's the harsh truth you'll need to deal with.
