My Super Nintendo SNES Games. I don't know if they can break or do they stop working?
I'm getting a SNES because my broke. And I still have a couple of games for it. But when I went to Play N Trade to see if they work, they didn't. So I want to know if they break or just they don't work.Also, how do I clean my gmaes. Also, if i get the twin system with the SNES and NES
It takes a lot of effort to damage an old-school cartridge to the point that it doesn't work at all. Occasionally, if you have one that does internal saves, the battery that powers the memory unit will eventually die, and the game won't work anymore, but your average NES/SNES game has one heck of a lifespan.
Usually, if they don't work, they're just in need of cleaning... so unless your SNES was killed by a power surge, and the game was in it at the time and got fried, you can probably revive the cartridges.
The easiest way to clean them is to just take a Qtip and some rubbing alcohol, and rub it gently acoss both sides of the metal contacts on the bottom of the cartridge. Then just let them air dry for about 10 minutes.
P.S. Don't listen to the guy who told you to use a magnet... first off, if they actually used magnetic storage, applying a magnet would scramble them rather than repairing them. Second, SNES games do not use magnetic data storage, anyway, so a magnet would do nothing.
