Why is my HDTV not displaying a pic using the component video cable? Samsung(TV) Sony (DVD)?
I hooked the component cable into the DVD (connections labeled ) DVD only component- video out Red,Blue, Grn as well as into back of HDTV Component In-Pr(red) Pb(blue)Y(grn). I pressed the source button on the TV remote and get Component 1 or Component 2 weak or no signal. The TV is working great nice picture( I have not added any digital connections yet) But I do not get the DVD display(setup) when I attempt to set my clock.Thus, no picture at all.
You should invest in an oppo dvd player.
They are excellent value and provide very good picture performance results.
To get the best possible picture from your hdtv via your dvd player, an hdmi cable is required.
The hdmi (high definition multimedia interface) is the best quality high definition cable that offers excellent video and audio quality.
You can pick up an hdmi cable for good value at a local electronics outlet.
Oppo dvd players upscale normal dvd's through the hdmi cable with some spectacular results in crisp high definition.
