What's the point of using large chips in World Series Poker?
I just watched a bit on tv, they were betting millions, up to 25 million for all.
But the 1st place winner only gets 1.9 million? and the 2nd/3rd places also get cash prizes?
So how does that work, why use 25 million in chips if 25,000 will work equally as well?
In a tournament, the chips are only called "dollars", but they have no cash value.
The reason for the large denomination chips is because they have all knocked out a lot of people and gotten their chips.
When the tournament starts, everyone only starts with 10,000 in chips, and the blinds are 25/50.
